Hinterlands is a print magazine for rural realities and narratives from Europe’s countrysides. In reports, essayistic prose and photographic formats, hinterlands magazine presents local rural reporting and creates a transgressive understanding of rurality. The magazine’s 4th issue of is dedicated to the colour pink. Raw and sweet, rural pink manifests in bulky or in broken flowers, gender clichés and cotton candy at the small-town fair. Pink are the softest and the hardest parts of the countryside.
